Lisabeth “Libby” Harrison, born February 15, 1948, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 69 on November 1, 2017.
Libby is survived by her daughter, Emily Victoria (29) and her two loving grandchildren, Poppy Clementine (6) and Calvin Alexander (4 weeks).
A magna cum laude graduate of both SUNY at Stony Brook (1969) and St John’s University Law School (1979), Libby worked for many years as a social worker before becoming an attorney and working at the NYS Court of Appeals, the NYS Capital Defenders Office and for the Legal Aid Society. At the time of her death, she was working at Mintz & Gold LLP as well as acting as Reporter to the Committee on Pattern Jury Instructions Association of the Supreme Court Justices of the State of New York.
Beyond the love for her career, she was also passionate about politics, a very skilled artist and had a very deep and close connection with her granddaughter, Poppy. She’s remembered fondly for her generosity, kindness, intelligence and love for her family.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, November 12 at Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave, Albany, followed by burial at Elmwood Hill Cemetery and a reception at a location to be determined.
