Obituary of Deborah Ashley
Deborah Ashley, 68 of Slingerlands, NY died on Tuesday June 6, 2017 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. Deborah was born in Pittsburgh, PA and was an educator in private schools. She later became a psychotherapist with a successful practice in Manhattan for many years. Deborah gave up her career to become a full time Mother and later entered her second teaching career at Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES. She also taught in Chappaqua and Albany She was a member of the Master Teachers Cohort and she was nationally board certified. Deborah’s passion for teaching changed the lives of many students and provided inspiration to all who knew her.
Deborah is survived by her loving children, Claire and Rachel Ashley of Slingerlands, NY. Sister of William Nott of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert Nott of California and Beth Ogle also of Pittsburgh. She also leaves her former husband, Martin Ashley.
A memorial service will be held at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 12 noon.
