Obituary of Chester Koblantz

Chester I. Koblantz , 77, Slingerlands, died peacefully on Wednesday September 6, 2017. Chester was born in Albany and grew up in North Albany where his father Nathan ran a pharmacy.
Chester was married to Susan Greenspan Koblantz until her passing
Chester began his career in research at the NYS Department of Health, before continuing to work at Agway and analyzing nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium and performing quality control testing for fertilizers until moving on to Sterling-Winthrop. He returned to the Department of Health as a senior laboratory technician until 1988 when he retired at the same time as his wife who was a pharmacist with Department of Health. In retirement Chester and Susan traveled the world and cherished each other’s company. Chester and Susan shared a long and happy marriage of 43 years until she passed away in 2006.
Chester was grateful for the support, care and friendship of Tina Goldstein, Judy Bovittz and Vicky DiLorenzo and the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences community.
Chester is survived by a sister, Carole Deitcher, of Albany.
A graveside service will be held at the Beth Emeth Cemetery, 58 Turner Lane, Loudonville, on Monday September 11, 2017 at 1:00 P.M., Rabbi Scott Shpeen officiating.
