Albany – Lillian R. Silver
Lillian R. Silver, age 95, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017. Born in New York City she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Bertha Patrick Cooper.
Lillian was employed by Rutgers University as a personnel supervisor for several years before retiring and before that she was the office manager for Edward M. Popky Real Estate in Wilkes-Barre, PA from 1964 to 1971. Lillian was not only a professional, she was very family oriented and the ideal Jewish wife and mother. She enjoyed knitting, bowling, mah jongg, and golf. She loved dancing with her husband and traveling on the cruises they used to take every year since their honeymoon.
Beloved wife of the late Norman F. Silver who passed away in 2007; loving mother of Mitchell G. Silver and his wife Faith Rapp Silver of Niskayuna NY and Steven J. Silver of Coral Springs, FL; sister of the late Edward Cooper, the late Leo Cooper, the late Mannie Cooper and the late Anne Birenbaum; cherished grandmother of Eric M. Silver of Niskayuna. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, September 25, 2017 in the Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery in North Lauderdale, FL.
In lieu of flowers donations in Lillian’s Memory may be made to The Daughters of Sarah Jewish Foundation, 180 Washington Avenue Ext, Albany, NY 12203; or the Alzheimer’s Association.
