Selkirk – Anna Dubrova, 81, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pryluky, Ukraine, Anna was the cherished daughter of the late Michael and Gita Shafransky. She carried her heritage with pride and brought warmth, culture, and music into every space she entered.
Anna was a devoted choral conductor for the Ne'imah Jewish Community Chorus, where her leadership and beautiful singing voice inspired many. She had a deep love for opera, travel, reading, and the arts. An elegant ballroom dancer, Anna moved through life with grace, passion, and joy.
Above all, family was the center of her world. She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Vladimir Ablin; her daughter, Aleksandra Dubrova; and her treasured granddaughter, Sofia Santoro. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Bella (Shimon) Tobolsky and Kira Shafransky; her nephews, Seth Tobolsky and Eugeniy Shafransky; and her niece, Dina Landon. Anna was predeceased by her brother, David Shafransky.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Tuesday, February 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Israel Cemetery, 1620 Western Avenue, Guilderland.
Anna will be remembered for her radiant voice, her vibrant spirit, and the deep love she shared with her family and community. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
