Cohoes - Fanny Vener died on March 9th at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes at the age of 90. Fanny was born on November 2,1933 in Essen, Germany. Her family fled Germany and relocated in Rensselaer, New York.
Fanny attended Rensselaer High School where she graduated at the top of her class. While in high school, she attended a Jewish Community Center dance where she met and fell in love with her husband, Lawrence Vener. Fanny was married at 18 and moved to England with her husband. Fanny decided that she wanted to be a homemaker and soon had two children and moved back to Albany. Fanny devoted her life to being a good wife, mother, and grandmother. Fanny was involved in all aspects of her children’s lives and made sure that everyone’s needs were met.
Fanny was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Vener. She is survived by her children Kathy Vener (Mark Snyder) of Slingerlands, NY and her son Norman Vener of Kirkland, Washington. Fanny was the devoted grandmother to her two grandsons Kohl and Slayd Snyder.
Fanny was the glue that held the family together. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and she will live in our hearts and thoughts forever.
Fanny’s funeral will be held graveside at Temple Israel Cemetery, 1620 Western Ave. on Wednesday, March 13th at 1pm.
Shiva will be sat by immediate family members privately and Minyan services will be at Temple Israel. On New Scotland Avenue in Albany.
