Albany – Roslyn “Roz” Kaplan, 99, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, at The Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center.
Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Frances Meyers. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond “Sonny” Kaplan.
Roz was a proud graduate of Albany High School. After winning the school’s penmanship award, she began her career at Bache & Co., where she wrote stock prices on a chalkboard. She remained with the company and its successor firms for 46 years, ultimately retiring as Office Manager. Following her retirement, she continued her administrative work with Meyers and Meyers, the family business operated by her brother and nephew.
Roz devoted her life to her family. She raised two children, ran her household, and worked full time — all with grace, strength, and without complaint. After a courageous battle with breast cancer, she emerged a survivor and carried that strength with her throughout the rest of her life.
For the last nine years of her life, she resided at The Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, where she received exceptional and compassionate care.
Roz is survived by her son, Stephen Kaplan; her grandson, David (Amanda) Alfred; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Alexa, and Gavin Alfred.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Risa Kaplan Alfred; her brothers, Richie and Howie Meyers; her grandson, Jason Alfred; and her beloved canine companion, Duchess.
Those wishing to remember Roz in a special way may make a donation in her memory to The Daughters of Sarah
